Land Acknowledgement

Founded in 1985, Western States Fire Protection’s corporate headquarters sits on the traditional homeland of the Apache, Arapaho, Cheyenne, Comanche, Kiowa, Lakota, Pawnee, and Ute Nations. For generations, these tribes thrived in the “Ȟeská Otȟúŋwahe” which translates to “Rocky Mountain” which is known now as the greater-Denver area.

WSFP also recognizes that there are hundreds of federally recognized tribes that occupied the lands west of the Mississippi River expanding to the West Coast, where all 45+ of our offices reside.

We honor the Natives of these lands where our facilities are located. We believe that we cannot be an inclusive company and begin to right the wrongs of westward expansion without acknowledging the colonization, genocide, and unethical removal of these tribes from their sacred homelands.
